About Alexia

Hi :) I graduated from Long Beach State University with a B. A. in Child Development and Family Studies. I have been working with children for about 10 years. I love working with all ages and have had many years of experience working with infants through preschool age and several years working with teens. I have had the opportunity to work with children in many diverse populations including; professional nanny, preschool teacher, elementary school literacy tutor and Behavior Interventionist, providing ABA therapy services to children with Autism, Caregiver and Substitute Instructional Aide for the severely disabled. Working with children is my passion. I love being outside and staying active as well as getting children interested in activities that do not include the TV! I also know baby sign language, beginning ASL and some Spanish as well.

Alexia was a nanny for our three year old son for about a year until her work circumstances changed. She was a wonderful part of our family, and formed a real bond with our son. He's very active, and she kept him happy and busy, planning out activities around Long Beach for the two of them. She also handled his "threenager" mood swings (and he's a strong-willed kiddo) with calm and care. Alexia is dependable and very easy to get along with; I highly recommend her, and any family would be very lucky to have her as a caregiver.
