About Alex

I have cared for dogs and cats my whole life, but have been in the animal care field for 5 years now. For the last two years I have been the canine enrichment specialist for the Richmond SPCA, where I learned a good foundation of behavior modification and management. I am currently working as a dog trainer for Zoom Room, doing obedience, reactivity, agility, and scent detection training. I am comfortable with working with any dog, regardless of behavior, as I have no doubt seen it before and I am working on a dog training certification to further my career in the animal care field. I have a strong skill set for dog handling and activities, and love to work with active dogs to find things that will help them feel fulfilled. I am also a lifelong cat lover and understand their needs and never push beyond what the animal is comfortable with.
