I am looking for a nanny share in Westwood with 1 - 2 additional share families. I'm interested in starting a share or joining an existing one. My husband and I both start work in Los Angeles at UCLA in June and we are living very close to Ronald Reagan. We currently have a nanny share with babies of similar age, it works well. Our son will be 13 months in June.

We can host or come to you - currently we trade off houses every week. Ideally, I would like to find a family to share with that is interested in hiring a care provider who can simulate a family daycare environment, only a bit more intimate as it will likely be a smaller group than you get in family daycare. We value safety, health, education and enrichment in a care situation/provider and our ideal match of family would be flexible, transparent and care about the well-being of the shared provider.

My name is Helene Smith. I was so thrilled to see your posts here! My husband and I were recently hired as teachers for LAUSD. We were unprepared for the difficulties we are having regarding infant care in Los Angeles!

I myself have worked as an educator for 15 years and I value good quality development minded care for our son. I was looking into a nanny situation, however the cost for 2 teachers is astronomical! In addition, we are leaving a wonderful center here in Austin where he thoroughly enjoys the interaction of the other kiddos. I realize he would be the youngest of the 3 however, it seems our parenting desires and need are a great match! We actually have not solidified housing either, but we are looking in the Midwilshire area. (not specifically close, but I'd be willing to travel to make a situation work for the school year). We too would need full time care, M-F 7am-5. With us being teachers, there will be some days throughout the school year that we would not need care, and my husband and I would be willing to watch the other little ones, cost free in exchange for committing to this arrangement. I'd love to take some time to chat sometime. We will be solidifying our home in the next 2 weeks, and in addition we will be physically moving to LA mid to late June so we could meet face to face over coffee just to see if it would work.
