I am looking for 23 hrs of daytime weekday care for my elderly Christian husband a retired Air Force veteran and HS shop teacher. Father of 4. He needs prompting and assistance with activities of daily living due to declining health, mobility, balance and dexterity. Some physical assistance with chair transfer, dressing, toileting, and meals likely. Some assistance with meal prep, vacuuming, making up beds and laundry as needed. He is a quiet, good natured man who has been active most of his life helping others, who strives for his independence and life despite his limitations.
Daily routine consist of overseeing and assisting him in Morning if needed to toilet, dress, brush teeth, put in hearing aids. Set out breakfast, make coffee, prompt for meds, assist to transfer to lounge chair. Maybe go out to breakfast with him. Put out bird seed and let miniature friendly dashound dog out to chase squirrels periodically. Load/empty dishwasher, make bed, load of laundry if needed. Light vacuum if needed. He likes to nap, and have short visits. Prepare lunch, snack or dinner if needed. Visit and provide company when he is open to it. Maybe make cards.
Woodworking, military history, farming, faith, politics-republican. Documentaries.
Friendly and positive personality. Similar interest helpful, clear English. He was a jet engine mechanic part of his military career and has lost some hearing. Accents and soft voices may make it difficult to communicate, able to bear weight assisting 132 lb man in transfer .
Comfortable around elderly.
Parking in Driveway. Rural country area.
