My Dad is a Vietnam vet that has a SCI and had a CVI years ago and is bed bound, with a trach, PEG tube, suprapubic catheter and on a ventilator. He has all of his faculties and a good sense of humor. We would prefer someone who can handle light housekeeping. Responsibilities include tube feeding, monitoring vital signs, changing, suctioning PRN, medication PRN, emptying catheter bag etc. Looking for a caring and compassionate companion. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker, comfortable with pets and CPR / first-aid trained. A typical day AM- you will give Nancy a bed bath and get her dressed for the day, you will then transfer her to her wheel chair then to the stair lift to bring her downstairs. Once you get downstairs you will make her tea while she brushes her teeth in the kitchen. After you're done in the kitchen you will bring her to the living room and transfer her to her comfy chair where she likes to relax. At 12 you will make her lunch, at 1 you are free to go PM- you will take her to brush her teeth again, then you will transfer her to the stair lift to go upstairs, she will want to use her commode, then you will help her dress and put on the news for her while she's in bed. At 8:30 you are free to go She loves reading and watching the news I'm looking for someone reliable, we will be on vacation from 8/24-8/29 and I really need someone to help with her because we will not be around. We will have family checking in on her in the afternoon, but I really need someone who will not miss a single day while we are gone. We also have dogs who are friendly so you must be comfortable with the dogs
