About who needs care: My grandfather, Robert, is an incredible man who lost his wife of 60 years after being her primary caretaker from 2019-2023. He lived completely independently until Dec 2024, when he was diagnosed with debilitating metastatic cancer. He needs companionship and someone who can help with ADLs (like eating, drinking, bathroom use, and keeping him company (though he sleeps alot)). He has lost his ability to care for himself.
He likes sports, daytime TV, and has a sweet disposition. He's easy to get along with, and one of my favorite people on earth.
About the care needs: My grandfather is lonely. A good fit would be someone who is attentive, doesn't mind watching long hours of TV with him and having random conversations. He is of sound mind, and enjoys occasional conversation and storytelling.
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
