Hello!
Cognitively alert 85 y/o woman w/MS and in a wheelchair, needs assistance 7 days/week. Multiple shifts available for morning to evening.
D is in a w/c, but can pull to stand with assistance and gait belt for transfers and toileting. Requires showering 2x/week. Has a Hoyer Lift only if needed. 86 y/o husband Doug will be in/out and does not need care.
The majority of the care is simply getting F out of bed and ready for her day at around 8 PM, a few trips to the bathroom during the day, and getting D ready and put to bed around 9 p.m. Some other simple tasks: help with easy exercises, tidying, occasional laundry, load dishwasher, and any other little things that make their place on the lake look nice. True compassion, sense of humor, and who enjoy engaging in conversation.
Multiple shifts available each day:
8 a.m. to 12/1 p.m.
2:30 p.m. for about an hour (bathroom trip).
5:30 p.m. for about an hour (bathroom trip).
8:30 p.m. to get D to bed, takes about an hour, but pay is for 2 hours.
I have been her caregiver during the winters in Naples, Florida for four years. They are a lovely and easy going couple.
I look forward to talking with you about their needs and your availability and qualifications.
Daily routine begins with getting down out of bed, toilet, washed up and ready for her day. Twice a week she showers with assistance. Wheeling down to the kitchen table where you can pour her bowl of cereal and coffee and provide her with her iPad or morning paper. She also needs a few bathroom trips during the day. And of course, getting her ready for/and into bed in the evening.
There may be opportunities to load/unload the dishwasher, wash a few dishes, tidy up, simple meal preparation, like making a lunch plate for D and her husband.
Reading the paper and talking about current events. Watching the news.
Need someone strong enough to assist with standing, toileting, doing a stand pivot transfer from wheelchair to/from recliner.
Knowledgeable on Hoyer lift use (only if needed in an emergency).
Plenty of parking available at their lake house.
No pets.
