Give your child the gift of creativity! Kids ages 9-13 who love art will thrive in this class where they'll engage in all sorts of art, access great tools and materials, and learn from passionate art educators eager to nurture each artist's unique style and talent. Youth Art Studio is a fun, creative space where kids learn to engage as artists, building creative skills that offer lifelong benefits. They'll learn how to approach, organize and plan creative projects; draw ideas and inspiration from the world of art, nature, or their own personal style and imagination; practice with artistic tools and techniques necessary to bring creative projects to life; build and benefit from a creative community that supports, inspires and perseveres as each artists grows in skill and capability. In our purpose-built, creative studio students will mix it up with projects that may include drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, fiber arts, and more! Each student will leave with a collection of artworks and their own artist-journal documenting processes learned and artistic growth over time. PROJECTS may include: one-of-a-kind Artist Trading Cards (so fun to trade amongst the group!) paper marbling using Suminagashi techniques (fan favorite!) drawing & painting from direct observation (still life & more) bookmaking (folding, glued and hand-sewn bindings) carving a printing block and making multiple prints (kind of like Andy Warhol) collaging with a variety of materials (paper, fabric, string, etc - the sky's the limit here!) needle-felted objects (using cookie cutters, patterns, and imagination) All journals, tools and materials included.

Our most popular summer program returns for Summer 2025: Art Lab! Does your child love to engage in the process of art making and experiment with new things? If so, Art Lab! is the week for them. This week will be chock full of exploration of art materials and may include things like making fizz art using baking soda, salt resist painting, kaleidoscope making, paper marbling with shaving cream and more! It's sure to delight the adventurous artist! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Magical kaleidoscope Colorful shaving cream collage Funky Fizz Art Magic Potion Jars And so MUCH MORE! This delicious week is back by popular demand! Your artist will create delightful 2D and 3D art projects inspired by some of our favorite sweets: popcorn, gum balls, cupcakes, cookies, and ice cream (just to name a few). It's sure to be a SWEET week! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Sprinkle covered donut painting you’ll want to take a bite of Gumball machine collage Ice cream cone made from a paper lantern And so much MORE! Does your child love to paint? If so, this is a great program to practice and learn new skills. Your artist will practice using a variety of paint media including, watercolor, tempera, acrylic paint, inks and more. We’ll focus on techniques such as color mixing, value, resist, and texture on a variety of surfaces all while creating a gallery of art. Note: Painting Adventures is offered twice during the summer. The techniques may overlap, but the projects are different in each session - so feel free to register for one week or both for double the fun! This week we will experiment with materials such as prisms, mirrors, bubble wrap, glow in the dark beads, shaving cream, paint, and more - and let our imagination run wild! This week is sure to delight the adventurous artist! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Out of this world collage with planets straight from your child imagination Mixed media painting made with bubble wrap, squeegees, and glitter Swirly shaving cream art collage Neon lava lamp painting AND so much MORE!
