Do you want to learn how to create a large scale painting ( up to 30”x40”) with drama of beautiful strategic texture? With the guidance of professional artist, Anita Robbins, you will create an original, textured, work of art. This workshop runs for 4 weeks every Wednesday in January. This is a mixed medium painting workshop. During this workshop you will learn how acrylic and texture create a number of archival techniques for a quality substrate. Anita will teach textural techniques that will help create a 3-D feel to your artwork and will also cover principles of design in composing and organizing texture and colors to make a successful painting. Winter Semester (January-Mid March) "Expressive Impressionism" takes the core techniques of Impressionism but adds a stronger emphasis on conveying emotion and personal interpretation through more dynamic brushwork, and exaggerated color. This course explores Impressionist themes, techniques, and various impressionistic artists. Students choose their own subjects and mediums while implementing the lessons learned in class. The instructor is an expert in chalk pastel, oil, acrylic, or watercolor. Supplies are available for use but it is encouraged for students to bring their own in order to continue working in their own studio between classes. We can provide a recommended supply list for the medium of choice if needed. Various techniques will be demonstrated to help guide students to their project goals. Adaptive Art is a field that focuses primarily on the students' access to art making despite personal challenges.
