Art Classes in Oakland, CA

Designed to excite and capture some of our older campers; this camp will take daily trips to meet different artists from around the Bay Area. Each day we will learn and experience a new art form from talented artists in their field. All materials are included. Campers need to bring an artistic interest, a desire to learn and a lunch.

Point your tastebuds towards a fun and delicious culinary adventure. Similar to all of our camps, we will be traveling to different locations around the Bay Area. Every day will meet and learn from professional chefs from local restaurants. Campers will learn how to prepare and cook their food, and eventually eat their creations. Thus, lunch is included with every day of this week (campers who are not comfortable with a variety of food options are welcome to bring extra food if they desire). ***Note****: Due to the locations and cuisines of this camp week, we must advise that there will be dishes with nuts, gluten, and other possible food allergies. For the safety of the campers, we advise all children with food allergies not to participate in this camp. If you do have specific or rare food allergies please feel free to inquire with us and we will do our best to check the ingredients being used each day.

Spend the week exploring science museums and even a submarine. Learn how roller coasters work and what it takes to become an astronaut. In this structured art class for kids ages 6-9, we focus on building foundational studio art skills through painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and more. By the end of the series, each artist will proudly take home 4+ completed artworks, showcasing their newfound skills and creative abilities. Every series includes new creative challenges so artists can continue their learning throughout the year. Note on Readiness: At Corner House Studio, we use two important factors to determine if a young child is ready for our classes: their drawing development phase and their level of independence.
