Our structured art classes for kids ages 4-6 provide a rich learning experience that nurtures creativity and cognitive development through painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and more with a focus on the process over the end product. By the end of the series, each artist will proudly take home 4+ completed artworks, showcasing their newfound skills and creative abilities. Every series includes new creative challenges so artists can continue their learning throughout the year. Note on Readiness: At Corner House Studio, we use two important factors to determine if a young child is ready for our classes: their drawing development phase and their level of independence. The MOCHA Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program gives 6th-8th graders the opportunity to develop their art, customer service, and work experience skills in a supportive, creative museum environment. The CIT program is 1 week program consisting of camp training, work development skills, and art for the summer. CIT hours are M-F (Depending on Camp schedule) 9:00am-3:30pm. If CIT requires care after camp, they will transition to the aftercare program (3:30pm-5:30pm) at an additional fee of $25 per day. Role & Responsibilities CITs build leadership skills and train as MOCHA Art Camp Counselors. Each CIT will work with staff to prepare and support the Teaching Artist in the class and during all outside activities. CITs support staff members in camper supervision, activity preparation, basic equipment maintenance, and other routine camp duties. Qualifications Willing to working with children Have strong teamwork skills Be a caring and enthusiastic role model for youth/peers ages 5-14 Counselors in Training (CITs) are, first and foremost, role models for campers. CITs participate in most camper activities, adhere to all camp guidelines, and model the MOCHA Camp values respect, kindness, helpfulness, and teamwork.
