This class will help you learn how to build worlds, create characters, and work with others on a personal and group basis. Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is recommended for ages 10+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing and anime. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. (Not the "Pocket" version) Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. With the guidance of professional artist, Anita Robbins, you will create an original, textured, work of art. This workshop runs for 4 weeks every Wednesday in January. This is a mixed medium painting workshop. During this workshop you will learn how acrylic and texture create a number of archival techniques for a quality substrate.
