Kids will explore their creativity through hands-on art projects guided by experienced instructors in a supportive, inspiring environment. Campers can choose from two session options: Half Day: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Full Day: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Each morning and afternoon features a unique, age-appropriate art project using a variety of materials and techniques. Whether your child joins for a few hours or the whole day, they’ll stay engaged, learn new skills, and bring home their own original artwork. All materials provided. Winter Semester (January-Mid March) Homeschool students work on different art techniques and creativity through drawing, painting, and sculpting. Small art class sizes allow for each child to get one on one attention and give them the opportunity to interact with others. In this class your child will refine their fine motor skills as they learn to draw, paint, and sculpt, while also learning a little art history. Students produce a variety of projects with various mediums and subjects in order to learn different techniques and skills in creating art. Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up today!

The Kids' Studio class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 8-11, focusing on building foundational art skills while encouraging creativity and personal expression. Our school year curriculum for ages 7 to 10 emphasizes form and composition. This program does not require students to have prior art-making experience. There is a one-time, pre-requisite Online Form Class each student who is just starting Fine Art Fundamentals must complete by the third week of classes. This class teaches students about form, values and composition. You will be notified to sign up for this class if this is the first time your child is taking this class. This week we’re celebrating the truly iconic artist and activist Augusta Savage! Known for her sculptures and influential art gallery, Savage is responsible for educating and encouraging a generation of nationally renowned artists born out of the Harlem Renaissance. We will experiment with the tactile approach of clay by making an antelope bust. Students will expand their sculpting techniques while learning about armature support construction, troubleshooting with different approaches to balance and application. To top it all off, they will add their own lively touch by painting their masterpiece, focusing on value and form.

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is recommended for ages 12+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing, anime, and some experience with digital art. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters.
