My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I engage with my students, learn about their experiences not only as a musician, but also as a person, and incorporate those into the lesson for a more personal and enjoyable experience. In my lessons, you can expect to learn everything you wanted to learn, and more. I like to tell my students don't let the last note you played/hit influence the next, the past cannot dictate the future. My favorite thing about teaching is the "ahh" moment when my students finally understand and find the answer to the question that's been on their minds. My favorite performance of another musician was Serj Tankian with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra. My students love that I understand and engage in their personal lives, because music comes from the soul. I primarily teach bass, guitar, music theory, and vocals, but I can also teach keys. My approach as a teacher is to not show my students how to play the songs, but to teach them the techniques and let them add their own flourish to the pieces. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
