Sensory play, painting, printmaking, collage, and sculpture will help children express their creativity in a fun, pressure-free environment!

Piglet's Playgroup is a weekly session for children ages 1 - 4.5 and their caregivers to foster creativity over the course of a curated 6-week session. Through beautiful, sensory rich experiences (both dry and messy), playdough provocations, dramatic play centers and paint exploration stations we will play and learn together, picking up powerful skills like problem solving and making friends. We believe in child-led learning. There is so much power (and joy) that follows when you provide your child with the space and tools to discover themselves through sensory rich, meaningful exploration. We will explore various artistic techniques such as acrylic painting, watercolor, and mixed media, ensuring that students not only have a fantastic time at camp but also develop their artistic skills. For Earth Day, students can create an engaging art piece using the eucalyptus tree as inspiration through a pastel and watercolor resist technique. They start by sketching the distinctive eucalyptus foliage and outlining it with oil pastels, which act as a resist to watercolor applications, highlighting texture and form. Applying watercolors over the pastel outlines, the sketches vividly come to life as the watercolors bleed into the paper while the pastel areas remain intact. This project not only fosters creativity but also encourages environmental awareness by reflecting on the role of trees in ecological health.

Welcome to our thematic art week at camp, where we dive into the vibrant world of seaside and marine life. Throughout the week, campers will explore a palette of deep oceanic blues, tropical greens, and vivid pinks to bring to life a variety of subjects from majestic whales and enchanting mermaids to lush palm trees and scenic paradises. Our skilled instructors will guide each camper through different painting techniques, focusing on color mixing and brushwork. We'll provide all necessary materials, so each camper can freely express their creativity and produce beautiful artworks to capture the beauty of the sea and shore, culminating in a showcase for friends and family to enjoy.
