I have worked in my current job as a Caregiver in a rest home for 12 years, and before then I had worked in a Homecare role. I have a National Cert level 3 in Caring for the elderly and National Cert in Social Services level 4. I have a wealth of knowledge and skills. I love caring for the elderly and have empathy and understanding of their physical, mental and emotional needs. My residents and their families would say my care is outstanding and I am accommodating and have a pleasant manner. I understand infection control, toileting needs, mobility, hygiene cares, pressure area cares, am competent in hoists and transfers, and Dangerous Drugs, medications. I am looking forward to working in the community again after many years in a Hospital/Resthome environment. I would like the flexibility of community work. I love working with the elderly.
