I started caring for elderly people in 2005, in the UK when I was visiting family (I was resident in South Africa at that time). January 2006 I emigrated from South Africa to Auckland,New Zealand and worked in corporate travel & conferences until 2009 (my company closed due to the global recession): I returned to the UK, was trained in elderly care and did live-in care for several months of each year (March-Nov) until 2014. Moved to Hastings from AKL end 2015 and have worked with a private care agency since 2016. I also did fund raising for the SPCA for 6 months at the same time as my care work. I've lived and worked with clients with various levels of needs. I enjoyed being able to uplift their lives with good food and laughter. My roles included organising and taking clients to medical appointments and organising social events. I'm organised, reliable, honest, cheerful and empathetic.
