We are looking for a nanny to look after our 7-year old boy This would be two afternoons a week for 2.5 - 3 hours. Ideally on a Tuesday and Thursday. However, the days of work could be negotiated with the right person to suit both our schedules, but will need to be the same every week once decided. We live less than 1 km from the school and have a big back yard which is great for playing. Our boy is pretty chilled out, generally super happy, chatty and loving. He loves reading, playing in the garden, building lego, making dens etc. We would much rather he come home with a lovely individual twice a week rather than going to an after-school programme. Requirements: - School pick up at 3 – a 7-8 minute walk from the house. This would need to be on foot or by bike as he cycles to school every day. - Supervise daily homework – reading, spelling and basic maths. - Encourage / supervise music practice. - Cook a family dinner (recipe and ingredients to be provided). - Support reading and other activities during the afternoon. - Play some games or come prepared with an activity or two. - OPTIONAL: depending on the days agreed, potentially take him to after-school activities (e.g. karate or swimming). This may require use of a car, as these activities are a bit further away (but <4km). We have an easy-install car seat that can be used. - Some light household duties (vacuuming, general tidy up, cleaning) may also be required when small child is occupied. Hours and hourly rate can be extended to accommodate this for the right person. This would suit a qualified nanny looking for some extra hours or part time work, or a student with some previous childcare / baby sitting experience. Hours would continue through the school holidays with the option of being extended to longer days if possible.
