Our previous wonderful nanny has just landed her first full time dream job. I’m now on the hunt for someone new for our family. I’ve got 2 boys, 11 and 6. I’m a widow with a high needs autistic boy, so, we just need a bit of help to keep life good. We’re pretty fun and we tend to embrace the chaos and not sweat the small stuff. The right person would be reliable, fun, warm and an all round good human. Hours and days are somewhat flexible, so if it’s not quite a fit hours wise, don’t be put off, it might work out. The 6 year old is into water and swinging, he can be very cheeky and fun. He is non speaking with excellent receptive language. He is not toilet trained. The 11 year old is a very calm and kind person, he is into space and the trampoline. The hours are Mondays 2.30-6.30, Wednesday 2.30-6.30 and Friday 2.30-6.30. Ideally these hours could increase during school holidays. Occasional overnights are also needed. The job involves collecting the youngest from school and taking care of both children after school. There is some light house work involving the children’s laundry and bedding and general tidying of the youngest child’s bedroom. Then making the children’s dinners and school lunches and tidying up after that. Longer days in the holidays would involve outings. There is a degree of flexibility in the days and hours. Applicants will need their own vehicle and ideally a full license, or able to get one in the short term. Full support will be offered to help the successful candidate feel comfortable in our house, and to know our routines and isms. You wouldn’t be left to get on with it before everyone is ready. We also have reverse references available upon request from previous support worker/Nannies to vouch for us as a good place to work. Nobody wants a bad job experience. A clean police check will be required before the position can be confirmed. I will be hiring the first suitable candidate for the job.
