Job description: We are seeking a Mandarin-speaking babysitter/nanny for our 4.5-year-old daughter on Thursdays for 2-3 hours, and also on as-needed/as-available basis. This job would be ideal for anyone training to be a teacher/assistant, Montessori teacher/assistant or just simply wanting to gain experience working with small children. Babysitting will take place mostly at our home, and will involve mostly playing indoors, playing outdoors, watching kids shows, plenty of reading books (Simplified Hanzi / Pinyin), using other learning materials, games, arts and crafts. We prefer a child-led environment to establish sufficient and sustained interest, so it will be mostly unstructured play/learning (no lesson plans required). It is absolutely critical that Mandarin language is used 95% of the time as immersion and exposure to the language is our goal for our daughter and purpose for establishing the role (5% of the time will involve speaking with us in English). Preparation of snacks or food will not be required as I will be home working on my own projects and will assist with that. Our daughter is toilet-trained, but sometimes needs some assistance – help here would be appreciated, but only if I am unavailable to do so. Designated start of blocked time is flexible with advance notice (to avoid schedule conflicts). Start date is as soon as possible, pending background check passing. Requirements: Fluent in Mandarin (read/write/speak) [Simplified] Patient and flexible, loving nature Experience with caring for young children Agree to, and pass, a background check OR have had a recent police check First-Aid certification (mostly in case of emergencies for as-needed/as-available babysitting) Must be ok with, or love cats (we have 2) Ability to drive (mostly in case of emergencies for as-needed/as-available babysitting) Pre-visit before official start date – an hour or so to have mom and child during new guest visit Nice to have: Early childhood teaching experience a plus Other information: Home is located in St Heliers, Auckland Significant quantities of educational materials are available in the home for use

I am looking for a caring childcare provider to help us after school Monday - Friday Starting in August. Thanks Naomi

We are looking for a fun, kind and reliable carer to pick up our son from school two afternoons a week either Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday. You would be required to help him with his homework and maybe some light duties, otherwise would be just hanging out and having fun. Preferably would be good if you liked dogs as we have two. Also must have full driver’s license and own vehicle.
