Home Based Childcare Jobs in Maori Hill

We are looking for an energetic and loving nanny/mother's help to care for our 2 year old son in Māori Hill. Pay rate negotiable depending on experience. This is a fixed term role for 6 months. Ideally our nanny would have experience with allergies. Additional training and education will be provided to manage his specific (serious) allergies. He is a loving, very active and inquisitive child. His favourite activities are playing outside, talking, reading books, encyclopaedias, drawing, dancing, ‘cooking’ and helping around the house. He loves to learn new things. We are looking for a responsible, proactive and vibrant nanny to be a part of our family. Someone who can provide structured care and a calm but stimulating environment. Must have experience as a nanny / early childhood education. We follow a child led approach to his care and development. An understanding of child development is essential, and some understanding of Montessori would be helpful (or a willingness to learn). We are looking for someone who can work us 20-40 hours per week on a semi-flexible schedule to accomodate mum and dad’s work. Some full days, other split days and some early morning, evening and weekend hours. The role also requires household management, including: housework, laundry, meal prep, cooking, grocery shopping and errands. An interest in cooking and meal planning would be a bonus. Both roles will be a mix of sole charge and mother's help. We are moving to Dunedin in early August 2024 for Dad's job as a doctor at the hospital. Mum works from home. Our dream nanny would have the following skills/qualities: - Early childhood educator or other childcare/nursing qualifications. - Experience as a nanny to young toddlers and an understanding of toddler development. - Experience with allergies. - Looking for a professional nanny role. - Fluent in English. - Willingness to help out where and when needed and be a part of the family. - Proactive and excited to create fun and stimulating activities. - Happy, active, fun, responsible and loving.
