I completed 4 weeks work experience in a nursing home in my area as part of my FETAC level 5 nursing course. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at the nursing home. I completed tasks daily including assistance with most of the activities of daily living. I assisted clients with personal care aswell as accompanying them and being a companion. I am very compassionate about caring for elderly people as I am a very goal driven person and I strive for excellence in all work that I do. As part of my care of the older person module I learned about the different aspects of the process of ageing and I also obtained a certificate in elder abuse training.
