I have had plenty of child-minding experience over the years. Most recently in summer 2017, I spent 8 weeks as a camp counsellor in Canada, where I was responsible for caring for a cabin of 10 girls age 4-7 and also 8-11. I gained a huge amount of experience from this role, as it was a stay away camp, so I was responsible for getting the kids up and dressed every morning, encouraging and motivating them through all the daily activities and helping them handle any homesickness or other problems. It was so rewarding though, getting to really know the children and spend quality time with them, you'd be surprised at how much they can grow (physically and emotionally!) in such a short amount of time! It's an amazing feeling to share a child's joy, whether it's just playing a game of cards or seeing them overcome a personal challenge. I also have personal experience caring for my younger sister, who has complex medical issues and also Downs Syndrome, so I am very comfortable being in the carer role! I'm a caring and fun person, and just genuinely enjoy spending time with children. I'm more than happy to help out with housework around the house also!
