Live in Nanny required for 5 year old boy with Autism

We are a warm and welcoming family based in Leopardstown, Dublin 18, looking for a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated live-in nanny to care for our 5-year-old child with autism. Our child is bright, curious, and enjoys engaging activities that promote learning and social development. We value kindness, patience, and a nurturing approach, and we are looking for someone who can provide the emotional and developmental support our child needs in a loving, structured, and safe environment.
Role & Responsibilities
As the live-in nanny, your primary role will be to provide dedicated, one-on-one care and support to our child. Specific responsibilities include:
Daily Care: Assist with daily routines, including getting dressed, meals, and personal hygiene.
Autism-Specific Support: Implement and follow structured routines and sensory-friendly activities designed to support the development of communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Activities & Play: Organize educational and recreational activities that cater to our child’s interests and developmental needs (e.g., art, music, outdoor play, reading, etc.).
Meal Preparation: Prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the child, considering any dietary preferences or restrictions.
School/Outings: Assist with school drop-offs, pick-ups, and transport to extracurricular activities or outings as needed.
Behavior Management: Use positive reinforcement and other strategies to manage behavior in a calm and supportive way, while promoting independence and self-regulation.
General Household Help: Assist with light household chores
Support school collection
Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents to share updates on the child’s progress, needs, and any challenges.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience working with children with autism or special needs is essential. A background in child development or psychology would be advantageous.
Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to create a calm and supportive environment.
