Digital Services Act

Care is committed to creating a safe and transparent platform. We continually review and update our policies and safety information to support our community. The Digital Services Act (DSA) is a legal framework governing transparency and accountability for online platforms in the European Union. The DSA’s aim is to create a safe and trustworthy online environment by creating a single set of rules across the EU.

If there is content on Care that you think may be illegal under EU law, including the law in your jurisdiction, you can report it by using our in-platform flagging system, by sending an email to dsa@care.com or by sending an email to our customer support team at mcimprint-en@care.com.


Information on Users in the EU

Pursuant to the DSA, online platforms are required to publish information on the average monthly active recipients of their service in the EU every six months. Our average number of monthly active users for the last 6 months (Jan1st 2024 - June30th 2024) is actually 77.558,83. A monthly active user is a member with an active account who has logged in to that account in a given month.


Single Point of Contact

The DSA requires online platforms to designate a single point of contact to enable direct communication with users in the EU, the EU Commission, EU Member State authorities and the European Board for Digital Services regarding our application of the DSA.

While you may always email us at the email addresses listed, if you believe that content on our platform is illegal or in violation of our Terms or Community Guidelines, reporting directly through our flagging system is the most efficient way for us to quickly address your concerns.


Reported Content and Dispute Process

In order to promote a positive and safe experience on our platform, users are required to follow our Terms of Use, including any restrictions or conditions of participation contained therein as well as our Content Policy. Users can learn more about our content requirements by visiting our helpcenter pages. Care may take certain restrictive actions on your content or account if we believe you have violated the law or our policies, including when we receive a report about your content from an EU government authority or the community.

The DSA provides opportunities to dispute the decisions online platforms make about content and user accounts. If you disagree with any action we have taken about your content or account, or if you have submitted a report about content and disagree with the action we have taken in response to your report, you can appeal our decision within six months by submitting our dedicated appeal form.

Additionally, you may be able to refer your matter to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body to help resolve any dispute with Care relating to our actions about reported content, including if you disagree with our final decision after appeal. The European Commission maintains a website listing the available settlement bodies.

Understanding Caregiver Recommendations

If you opted in to receive caregiver suggestions via email we will find caregivers who signed up or updated their profiles within the last 2 weeks and which are located within a 20km radius around your location. Location is bound to your and the caregivers zip code. So distances might differ to more granular locations like a specific postal address.

Whenever you see a list or caregivers on our platform, in the search or your homepage, they are sorted by a ranking algorithm that will award points for certain attributes connected to their profiles. This should always bring the objectively best caregiver to the top of the search results.
