British student brought up in Hong Kong. Fluent in Mandarin. Tutor up to GCSE level.

I am an English student who was raised in Hong Kong, and went to a Chinese local school. Therefore, I am not only fluent in Mandarin, yet I am also able to write both simplified and traditional script. I taught myself Chinese GCSE when I was 13, achieving an A*. Later, when I moved to an English boarding school, I began to help the Chinese department teach others in my school Chinese, preparing them for their GCSE. I also taught myself Chinese Pre-U, achieving a D2. During this period, I began to help tutor the prep school nearby, as well as a few more GCSE students. Finally, I’ve got a place in Durham to study Chinese studies in 2020. Overall, I am fascinated by the language, and wish to help others achieve their goals regarding Chinese as well. Chinese is a unique subject, but given that I had to learn it as a foreigner, I have learnt several ways to help pick up the language from such a perspective. Thus, I am keen to share these with other students searching for such help.
