I am passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people with special needs and disabilities. I have a broad range of experience working in this field. My father is blind so I am aware of the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals and the help needed to overcome barriers. I know British sign language and am currently studying level 3. I work part time as an assistant practitioner with Norfolk county council Sensory Support Unit, supporting the needs of deaf adults in and around Norfolk. I am a registered short breaks foster carer with Norfolk county council children with disabilities team, I cared for a child with severe learning disabilities from the age of 10-16 under a shared care arrangement with the child’s family.
