Special Needs Care in Prestonpans

| I have a wide range of experience, looking after children from all backgrounds, supporting them before and after school. I previously worked for a charity based organisation called “First Hand” for eleven years looking after children with additional support needs and supporting families with a wide range of needs. This was a job of high importance, supporting them through hardship and providing the care and support needed to guide them through difficult times. I worked with them in their own homes giving respite and would support them for a number of months. Very recently I was working three days a week with two children one of which was fifteen years old and has Downs Syndrome. I took the children to after school activities and help with homework. I had been working with this family for just over three years. I am passionate about working with children and am a very creative person. I enjoy making things, reading and taking part in outdoors activities with them.

| I am a qualified primary teacher and I am currently at university studying Social Work MSW. I have a lot of experience in the social care field sector with lots of different types of people and backgrounds. There are not many things that I haven't come across therefore I am not easily fased. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, I am warm and friendly with a large sense of humour.
