A special needs teacher who's passionate about providing excellent care
|
Hello!
I'm Rachel, an Assistant Psychologist with 5 years teaching experience.
I have a real enthusiasm working with children with special needs and would love the opportunity to work with you!
I have experience with both primary and secondary aged pupils with ASD, Down's syndrome, Angelmans Syndrome Epilepsy and Global developmental delay.
My specialism is communication and believe that every child should have a voice. I have experience using Makaton, PODD, ALD's, PECS and high-tech devises including; eye gaze, grid and PODD.
I also have experience working with children with physical disabilities. I am able to follow Physio programs, if shown, and use walkers and chairs, as appropriate to the child.
I am a creative individual and currently hold the position of head of art across key stage 3 and 4. I'm not afraid to get messy and have some fun!
