I started off as a teenager babysitting. I loved it so much that I studied childcare and passed my exams. I've now been working in childcare for 9 years.
I work I part time in various settings creche, nurseries, daycare, refuges and children centres. I provide caring and development for children, meeting individual needs - bottle feeding, changing nappies, planing and carrying out activities. Over the years, I have worked with lots of children showing challenging behaviour.
I have wide range of experience of working with children with challenging behaviour, allergies, specific needs, children with asthma, autism, cerebral palsy, my list is quite endless.
I love my job, its so rewarding watching children develop and watching their confidence grow as they learn through play, learning new skills and most of all having lots of fun and getting messy!
I have also worked in various nursing homes over the years, caring for the needs of Adults, - feeding, bathing, dressing. Making beds, sitting talking to them as they chat about their past/present. Encouraging them to be independent. Playing table games dominoes and card games.
