I am currently a carer for my sister and provide the childcare for her two young boys, this role is shared with her partner so I can be flexible and I am looking for a part time position. Previous to caring for my sister I worked as a support worker for a seven year old girl with cerebral palsy, within this role I was promoted to become her care manager and also worked in school with her as a special support assistant. Through this I am experienced in all aspects of personal care, managing medication, gastronomy/peg care and different methods of communication including the programming and use of communication aids (both switch based & eyegaze). Through my care manager role I managed a team of up to seven carers, organising rotas, training, implementing supervision, writing care plans and risk assessments and payroll. I have completed moving and handling in my previous role and a full DBS check last year and I am more than happy to renew this.
