Special Needs Care in Elgin

| I happen to be on the autism spectrum myself, so I understand the needs of children with special needs. My younger brother has various special needs and growing up I was a young carer for him. I can cook, clean, play games (puzzles, outdoor activities etc) I can do crafts, watch movies, read books and do creative things such as build a fort or a castle. If the person is older, I can watch movies, play video games, read books, watch youtube, just talk, do stuff like nail painting, face masks and other fun things. I can keep to a schedule of nap times. medication times, eating times etc. I can also assist with dietary requirements the person may have. I am firm but kind, my job is to make sure the person has fun, are safe and have all their needs fulfilled.

| I began my career as a care assistant/support worker at age 16, working to support vulnerable elderly people with cognitively impairment in a care home setting, this job provided me with a lot of experience in supporting vulnerable adults in a safe, dignified and independence maintaining manner. I have since worked in other care homes, as well as supported people who have learning disabilities who are living in community living projects and shared accommodation, the latter being my current employment. I’m not a driver but I have my own transport to and from services. I’m a lighthearted, hard working person who loves the lasting friendships created within these employments and always hope to make a positive impact in other peoples lives.
