I am a highly experienced and qualified SEN support assistance.
| I grew up gaining SEN experience as my youngest sister has dyspraxia and Autism. My mum also worked as a respite carer for 8 years and therefore a young girl with SEN would come and stay with us every other weekend. At the age of 17 I started working in a playgroup where I was quickly given the role as a one to one support for many different children with different SEN I.e. down syndrome, cerebral palsy and angel man syndrome. I then started working as a teaching assistant and again was quickly given the role as a one to one support to a girl with autism. I stayed as her one to one support for 3 years. I also provided home help for her parents and with this role I provided 10 hours of care a week after school at her home. I then had my first child and took a year of maternity leave. When I returned to work I decided to return via an agency to have the flexibility to work around my son. Working for the agency I was asked to stay on long term placement at a local school where again I was asked to be a one to one support this time to a young boy with autism. I left this role to have my second baby and now I am looking to provide my care, knowledge and experience for families that want help with their child in the evenings.
