| Hello! I've grown up with cats and thought cat sitting would be perfect to pick up as I absolutely adore little furry friends and am eager to spend even more time with them. My first cat was called Fifi, we got her from a family friend who moved into housing that wouldn't let her keep her when I was around 4. I think it was suppose to be temporary but we fell in love with her and it ended up very permanent. Around 5-6 years ago, we got my current cat who's name is Hattie. She was a rescue cat who was very timid so it took her a while to get accustomed and comfy to life with us but she is happy as larry and to my liking she's also an indoor cat. Even after all this time she is still weary of new people being in the house and will often retreat to under my bed but any other time she's happy as anything - meowing, rolling about on the floor and sitting on my lap. I have just finished my a-levels and am now on a gap year before I start uni so am hoping to meet some feline friends before I go!

What questions should I ask a cat sitter in an interview?

The best cat sitters in Shepperton have a combination of experience and passion for cat care. Ask questions about the types of pets they have personally owned and how often they are currently cat sitting. Because cats behave differently than dogs, make sure to ask questions that are specific to cat behaviours and tendencies. It's also a good idea to give specific scenarios to the cat sitter you're speaking to so you can have a good idea of how they will treat your cat when they are in your home. Be sure to ask for references from other cat parents in Shepperton that have worked with the sitter of your preference.
