I helped look after my late grandfather and my elderly neighbour who died at aged 98. Helping them to drink their glass of water and aiding with cooking skills so that they got fed daily was very important to me. My grandfather used to call foreign food foreign muck but he always ate my Indian and Italian dishes. He made me laugh so much I never knew how much life experiences I would learn from him but his stories of how things were in his time were interesting and educational. His son would cook him German sausages and put garlic in them which he hated but when he ate them he never complained.
It was most hilarious that he loved garlic bread and garlic mushrooms but hated garlic. I guess working in care is very much the same as helping with administering their medication so they don't get it wrong is vital. Assessing their surroundings to make sure health and safety regulations are adhered to are of paramount importance when looking after frail people. I am a good listener and can sit for hours just listening to them. I can assist in bathing and making food for them.
I am an excellent cook and can make anything I am asked to do practically.
