I started in the care sector by working for Bexley council as a carer in the community. Whilst there I progressed to a senior assessor. I enjoyed working with the elderly so I started my own care business but I am afraid that after a year I closed the business down as I was only getting gardening jobs as I did not have the resources to advertise where needed. I carried on working in the care industry as a carer for quite a few years. Approx 12 years ago I was approached by a company to manage a elderly dementia residential home which I successfully managed. I went to live in France for a couple of years but after being there 6 months I missed the elderly very much so my husband and I agreed for me to work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off in the U.K. this is when I started that kind of hours and I have been doing that now for over 4 years. I have all the relevant training and police check. Excellent references are available. I am looking for work now as the lady I looked after for over two years has sadly passed away. I provided end of life care.
