Elderly Care in Harrow

| Hello I have worked in the nursing /caring community since I was 14 years old I am now 54 years old I started working as a baby sitter ..then at 16 years old I became a mother’s help and then in my early 30's I started supporting special needs children ,,,I started with a nursing care agency 2001 and worked in all aspects of care I have my N.V.Q 3 in social care. I was working as a children’s private nanny from #### -#### for two different families .. I have been a nanny to new born up to teenagers and been involved in all aspects of care and duties whilst also working as a nursing Carer in the community ... also I worked part time as a manager in an antique centre in Pinner ####-####.. so I have a lot of skills that help me manage my jobs etc.

| I have worked within social care for roughly 12 years. In this time I have worked in others sectors of care but primarily home care/Home help. I have provided personal care/ domestic help/ respite for a carer/ a sitting service and sleep-ins. I enjoy the variety of meeting new people and hearing the stories of people's lives, I am a very cheerful and friendly person and am told I'm always smiling. | Our mission is to provide a person-centred Supported Living and domiciliary care support for the young 0-25 years SEND, young adults 18 and above and the elderly from 65 years with physical or and mental health issues, disabilities and complex and multiple disorders which encompass both health and social care needs with the following diagnosis/conditions: dementia, Alzheimer’s, motor neurone disease, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, cerebro-vascular accidents (stroke) and those with re-enablement/rehabilitation needs after fracture/s, or upon hospital discharge from other ailments.

I have worked with the elderly in 1996. It has taught me a lot of skills about conflicts, clarifying issues, interpersonal relationships, and not to be negative. I worked with elderly patients and I enjoyed providing their daily care. I want to specialise in elderly people ailments such as arthritis, diabetes, and blood pressure, including mental health. I am still as fast as a young person. I can cope with the task of nursing their demanding needs. As a representative in various fields like customer care, administration and reception work, I have learnt to explain issues more assertive in my role and stand up to what I believe is good for business in a logical and reasonable manner. It was easy for me to follow instructions. Respectful and not intimidating to higher management, my role was to office manage doing recycling, accounts, health and safety were my responsibilities. I enjoyed this very much. I never pointed fingers at others and made colleagues aware of issues in a non blame non educational manner. I am able to work without supervision. In addition I can stick with it.

| From a Qualified Carers perspective, I am professionally a well-experienced, strong, compassionate yet capable, conversant, patient and accommodating person who recognizes that every individual is unique and so are their needs. I strive to promote the dignity of my clients in every aspect. I can bathe, wash, shave, provide hair care, oral hygiene, assist with dressing them appropriately as desired (indoor /outdoor, day/night wear) as well as just being there as a reliable companion, offering leisurely chatter. I also assist with errands such as visits to the hairdressers, going out for a coffee, Middlesex). During my time in these homes I was certain that this was my true calling; working with the elderly as well as disabled persons with mental or care, as they Satisfaction for me is getting to see the joy on their faces as I drive in or simply call out to them on arrival. I very much want them to know they can rely on me and enjoy my company too.

| I was working in care not to long working about 6 month, but in this 6 month l really love it look after them.

| I am working at residential care home as a senior carer, My hobby is cooking, I like to do some food preparation or working as a carer on Wednesday , Thursdays around Harrow, Pinner, Ruislip or Northwood.
