I’d been in care industry since 2013. I started as a healthcare assistant in a care agency where I look after a man who has a decreased mobility and needed someone to do his meal 3x a day, a little bit of shopping, light house work, washing, toileting and assistance to bed with companionship. Then I worked for a nursing home which is specialized in dementia where I learned to look after more than 30 patients and be part of a team to deliver the best service to provide their daily needs. After a year and a half, I applied for a healthcare agency again where I learn to adapt to different care environment as I was assigned to different care homes every time. I also had been a live in carer for an elderly woman who had stroke and a bed bound who needed assistance on everything, a lady who requires a carer to live with her while she wait for an available room in a residential home and a couple who both suffers from Alzheimer’s. All clients requires me to help them with personal care, making food for them especially making their most likely to eat food, keeping them company, doing housework. I enjoyed doing all these as I do appreciate things that will make the clients that I worked for have an improvement on their situations.
