Hi, I'm Emily and I live in Llanelli with my husband, son and cat.

I started my career in an additional needs nursery back in 2011. In 2014, I wanted a change so applied to my local residential home to become a care assistant. It was a challenging but fun experience supporting the elderly with both physical disabilities and poor mental health. This is where I was first introduced to Dementia and the challenges faced by not only those living with this disease but how it affected their loved ones. I achieved my Level 3 in Health and Social care at this time, along with lots of training courses to help support me in my role. I steadily progressed to senior positions, before stopping at assistant manager. Then in 2018, my family and I made the bold move from London to Llanelli. I accepted a job working with Carmarthenshire Council in community care, where I was able to learn a whole different take on how those with care needs live in their own home and how it differs from residential homes. It was an eye opener but also incredibly rewarding. I completed many in-depth training courses including the All Wales Induction Framework. I, now, work as a self employed carer. Hoping to bring my knowledge and experience into the homes of people in need.
