- Directing team members during the busy environment of the ward to exceed goals and create a positive environment during shifts by way of motivation, guidance, and mentoring.
- Help patients who need assistance with eating such as cutting up food, ensuring the tray and napkin are in the right position and their drink is within reach, clearing away the tray when the patient is finished.
- Working alongside clinical staff to provide an extra dimension to care by providing social support for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury and dementia as well as their carers.
- Taking up a proactive approach at work with other supervisors and Nurse in Charge to set and evaluate individual patient needs.
- Responsible for making sure that service of 1 to 1 activities, e.g. reading, games, reminiscence, crafts, visits to the garden/shop is always efficient but professional.
