Elderly Care in Crediton

| I am a friendly, caring person, reliable and trustworthy. I have elderly experience providing companionship but also helping with house hold chores, shopping, dealing with paperwork and making necessary calls for you if you wish. I can transport you to appointments if desired although a fuel charge would apply. I can supply references. Please note I do not do personal care ie. Washing, dressing etc

| I am a bubbly 55 year old retired post lady a job which I have enjoyed mainly because of the customers I love people, since living in Devon I have 4 clients that I clean for but they are not clients they have become friends all with different needs and ailments and I go to them every week for 1 or 2 hours and help support them anyway I can housework shopping and sitting just having a chat

| Throughout my working life, I have mostly worked in a "caring" role. I have worked in nursing and elderly residential care, as a minister of religion, and an administrator for young apprentices in the construction industry. The Council's residential home in Crediton where both residents and staff became like "family" sadly was closed down in the cutbacks in April 2015. I am now fully self-employed and the work here is varied and includes: all aspects of care, enabling, cleaning, home help, companionship, shopping, meal preparation, ironing, bed changing, dog walking and pet & house sitting. I have recently passed my Level 2 (equivalent to an "O" Level) in the Principles of Dementia Care. I am based in Crediton. I can drive, but I do not currently have access to a car. | I have been working within the health and social care environment for the last 15 years. This has been in a variety of different settings including adult challenging behaviour units, domiciliary care and residential nursing. During this time, I have developed and improved my ability to manage and resolve conflicts, and it forms a central part of my daily activities. I find that my attributes such as being able to communicate effectively, aided by my calm nature aid in conflict resolution. My diverse background in care provision has given me a well-established understanding of basic human needs, both physical and emotional. Additionally, during my career, I have come in to contact with multiple difference professionals and understand how partnership working is essential in providing the best outcome for clients.

I have interests in animals, gardening, cultures and historic architecture.
