Elderly Care in Torbay

| I have many years experience in the care sector. I was a Marie Curie Palliative Care Nurse for 10 years and a registered manager for two care homes. I have also had many years experience as a Health &a Social Care Tutor I have worked as a live in carer for last 2 years.

| My name is katrina and i have spent nearly 12 years in care! I worked with a young man with spinal muscular atrophy for 10 years before he sadly passed away nearly 2 years ago, I worked in his own home so I became very close to his family and I know how to be discreet, respectful and treated him with dignity. Mh role was to help him live life to the max including personal care, feeding and outings to anywhere he wanted to go. I loved my job with him especially doing one to one. I now work in a care home that has 45 residents and I've made my way upto senior in the short amount of time I've been there! I deal with alot of residents that have dementia and a couple that have parkinsons. I'm fun and outgoing but I know when someone needs me to be calm and at all times I'm respectful to the person I'm caring for and dignity is a must at all times. | I enjoy cooking, long walks & music. I have my care certificate & Level 3 diploma in Health & Social Care..I enjoy my work & love to make a difference in people's lives. I am passionate about care for the elderly, with my main interest in Dementia. I have taken & passed The understanding of Dementia Level 3 & at present have 2 years experience working in this field. I also have Moving and Handling. Infection prevention Control. Diabetes Level 2. Food and Nutrition. Incontinence training. And other aspects of care home training of which certificates can be supplied.
