I have over 5 years of experience of educational mentoring and learning support within a London secondary school. I support children with their learning and cognitive processing, assisting them with accessing the educational curriculum. I work closely with teachers to develop schemes of work that are tailored to the individual needs of the students I work with. Further, I work in 1:1 situations with specific students who have learning challenges (such as Dyslexia, Autism and Global Development Delay). Additionally, I assist my students with meeting homework deadlines and examination preparation. I am certified to teach English as a foreign language to level 5. To this end I work very often with EAL students who speak English as a second language, assisting them with challenges in grammar, vocabulary and sentence construction. understanding subject-specific vocabulary. Further to this, I also tutor Chinese students on an online platform, specifically in conversational English.
