My tutoring experiences date back to 2014 at a tuition centre in London where I began, at 17, as an assistant to a lead Mathematics Teacher. Despite teaching individuals a year or two my junior, I was able to establish very strong rapport with all students and in doing so was promoted to a lead position within a few weeks of joining. Since then, I have essentially owned the GCSE Mathematics department at the centre, primarily teaching students aged 11 to 16. I have taught on a one-to-one basis as well as in large groups, both in-person and online, and feel very comfortable with both. My routine includes having detailed weekly plans for individual students/year groups, which I base my lessons around. This helps in defining structured plans for each student as well as providing parents with tangible data-points to assess their child’s progress. If requested, I set up personal meetings with parents/guardians to discuss further queries they may have. Given the recent impact of the pandemic, I have transitioned into online tuition and have equipped myself with the latest technology to ensure my lessons remain productive and enjoyable.
