Hi, my name is Rachel, I am an 18 year old student living in Manchester but I'm originally from Northern Ireland. As part of my Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, I have tutored primary school aged children in music theory alongside their qualified teacher. This gave me valuable experience and I was able to learn from their teacher who had over 10 years of expertise. I learnt the importance of creating engaging and fun lessons, as it's clear that children will not learn or take in information if it's presented in a boring way. I also tutored young people undertaking their GCSE Russian and French examinations while I was in sixth form which gives me a wider range of experience in different age groups and different levels of education.
