I have been teaching for 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. In my first year of teaching, I was able to take a class of students (in Nottingham), that had never studied chemistry before, through the entire GCSE in just one year. 97% of that cohort achieved A* - C. The schools average for English and Maths were much, much lower.
