During my GCSE math's exams, I constantly felt anxious. During my A-levels, I overcame this anxiety. In Year 11, my revision techniques were not productive as they consisted of re-reading lesson materials which were not working for me. Despite excelling at questions during class, in exams, I struggled to reach top grades. My lack of timed–assessment technique was causing me to run out of time in exams. In my A-levels, I was able to increase my grade to A* in my final year with a new revision routine and good time management whilst still having time for my own hobbies. Working smarter is key in achieving top grades. I have over a year of tutoring experience in Math's which includes linear and vocational courses. Whilst assisting my tutor in tutoring younger children, I realized that students have different revision techniques. For example, some students excel more with visual learning such as videos whereas others are more suited to books. When working with new students, figuring their strengths and weaknesses is very important. Doing out small quizzes of topics helps in doing this. When preparing for my own a-level final year exams, active recall, past papers and ensuring I had fully covered the curriculum was very helpful.
