My youngest son was born with a rare condition in October 1996, unfortunately he passed away in april 2000. My son needed 24hr care. But, the experience urged me to go onto work with other special needs children. Currently, I work w in a primary school as a Teaching Assistant. I have had experience in the last 2 years with an Autistic child. I'm at the moment class based in Year 2. My job there is very varied and never a day is the same, which is why I love it. Which is also why I am looking for more jobs to go alongside the teaching job. I have a passion for seeing improvement in children's growth. Working with children was always a passion of mine. I also worked 10 years ago as a respite care worker, where I went into families houses and looked after their children, while the parent/carer had some respite away from them. I found this very rewarding as well. Recently, I worked in a care home on top of my teaching job but had to give it up. This entailed looking after the elderly - a lot who were not able to walk, had dementia, etc.
