Most times special needs individuals may require more time to complete tasks or understand instructions. Patience ensures that as a caregiver, i do not rush or become frustrated, providing a calm and supportive environment. Each individual has unique challenges and strengths, and as a caregiver I must be flexible in my approach. I posses effective verbal and non-verbal communication which helps in understanding the needs and desires of the individuals in special need, as well as conveying instructions and information clearly. I have the knowledge and training on specific needs, conditions, and best practices in caregiving for special needs individuals which in turn enhances the quality of care. I support independence and decision-making where possible which helps in promoting the dignity and self-esteem of special needs individuals.
