I have worked in health and social care for over 28 years for a major disability charity and more recently for the British Red Cross. I have worked with children and adults with a range of physical, sensory, learning and communication difficulties. I started out as a care assistant within a residential setting and became the manager of day services over 20 years ago. My motivation for becoming a manager was because I wanted to ensure disabled people received the services they needed and I feel proud of the difference I have been able to make for disabled people and their families. I am a warm and caring person and have experience working with families and professionals to achieve the best possible care. I love animals and am happy to help support them too as part of my role. I take pride in promoting the independence if those I support and ensure their dignity and well-being is fully respected.
